Barriers to problem solving
There is something rather magical about solving a problem. When you find a solution, often you know instinctively that is the right one – it just feels right. Problems may manifest themselves in many ways, including:
- a discrepancy between expectations and reality;
- failure to meet a standard;
- the need for something to exceed the standard;
- inconsistent results or performance.
There are many reasons why it is difficult to find a solution to a problem. Here are some common causes and brief solutions and, after the table below, you will find more detailed ways of dealing with each issue.
