Barriers to problem solving

There is something rather magical about solving a problem. When you find a solution, often you know instinctively that is the right one – it just feels right. Problems may manifest themselves in many ways, including:

  • a discrepancy between expectations and reality;
  • failure to meet a standard;
  • the need for something to exceed the standard;
  • inconsistent results or performance.
