When test tools were first considered in the Foundation Level syllabus, they were simply described as basic types of tools.
Understanding and using tools are essential elements in the technical test analyst’s job. Tools help to improve the efficiency of testing and, in certain cases, enable the fundamental task of testing to be accomplished in a repeatable and economic manner. In this chapter, we look at some of the technical issues relating to test automation.
