Conceptualizing this book took many years and included many twists and turns. I continuously sought greater clarity about what high-performing organizations possessed that was so attractive to their workforces and captured employees’ commitment. Did the concept of an organization possessing a soul make sense, and what does an organization’s soul consist of? Should the focus of this book be about organizational soul or about providing hope for employees of organizations, since both are of vital interest to me?
