Recruiting and Retaining Your Staff

Now that we’ve explored the application of the Polyvagal Theory in various leadership styles, we’ll turn our focus to the recruitment and selection processes and the underlying biases that prevent leaders from recruiting the right workers. Consequently, we’ll explain how a balance of rational and nonrational decision-making can be achieved considering the three states outlined by the Polyvagal Theory: (1) socialization, (2) mobilization, and (3) immobilization. After a brief visit from Oliver Green, we’ll look at the main factors that should be considered when selecting candidates.
