As a filmmaker, the idea of using a continuous long shot as a storytelling toot is quite seductive. 1 usee to think most moviegoers didn'l notice and probably didn't care if a shot was accomplished without a cut, but in the years since Goodfellas was released, l've learned that a lot of people not only realized the shot into the Copacabana single long Steadicam take. but 'thru enjoyed being “taken for a ride.” There is real power in the utter simplicity of this kind of filmmaking, and Steadicam offers unmatched flexibility to achieve it.
There is risk in attempting a kmg shot. It could be little wore than an opportunity to show off if you aren't careful. It can seem arbitrary if there is no good reason ...
