Back in 2000, I spent 15 months on tour as an actor. We performed in schools, prisons, church halls, old people's homes, leisure centres – pretty much anywhere other than an actual theatre! We performed our show over 1,000 times, to many different audiences. Old people who couldn't hear. Young people who didn't care. Prisoners who weren't afraid to let you know if they liked you or not. There was always something at stake.
