In the real world of business, SWOT analysis is the most popular of all the strategy tools. It’s probably because it’s easy to remember and seems logical (even obvious). It’s a very practical, efficient way to start exploring the bigger picture and decide what to do next.
Draw up the grid then just list opportunities and threats facing you and the strengths and weakness of your organisation. Write up everyone’s ideas. There’s no need to be lengthy or provable at this point – the goal is to end up with a collective view of the most important issues under each heading.
