A

ABL
Asset-based loan. Financing secured by collateral (e.g. equipment).
Analytics
Delivery of insights through descriptive visualizations of historical trends, as well as advanced predictive and prescriptive models based on large data sets.
AP
Accounts payable.
AR
Accounts receivable.
Arbitrageur
A person simultaneously buying and selling assets, in order to take advantage of differing prices.

B2B
Business to business.
Brand voice
The powerful, consistent expression of a brand through words and style.

Capex
Capital expenditures. Funds used to acquire, upgrade, and maintain physical assets such as property, plant, and equipment.
Capital instruments
Equity securities (usually known as stock) and debt securities.
Capital markets
Financial markets in which debt and equity securities are bought and sold.
Capital structure
The mix of debt and equity used to fund a company's operations and finance its assets.
Cash conversion cycle
A measure of working capital management ­efficiency equal to DSO plus DIO minus DPO.
Chapter 11
The section of the United States Bankruptcy Code that provides for reorganization.
Cloud, the
Cloud computing refers to storing and accessing data, and executing programs over the internet instead of on a local network.
Corporate development
The business function or group that primarily supports inorganic growth through acquisitions, mergers, alliances, joint ventures, and partnerships.
