In recent years, Asian women have made many strides when it comes to leadership and opening doors for all women. There have been some great Asian women out there who have made history for us. Here are some notable Asian women who have made the impossible possible.

Kamala Harris

Kamala Harris is the first woman to be elected vice president of the United States. She is the highest‐ranking female official in US history along with being the first African American and Asian American woman to hold such a high office. When Kamala Harris was sworn in as vice president, parents sent in photos of little girls watching and made a video montage of it. Being able to see the little girls watch Kamala sworn in as vice president is giving them hope that one day they can also have the highest seat in the White House and beyond.1

Kim Ng

You may not have heard of Kim Ng before, but she's a woman who has made history in the sports world. Kim Ng is the first woman to be hired as a general manager for any major sports team and the first East Asian American to lead a Major League Baseball team. In November 2020, she became the general manager for the Miami Marlins. Kim has had her fair share of challenges to get to where she is today. While her track record has been amazing, she was rejected at least 10 times as general manager for previous teams.2
