EMI to Consumer Electronics
The phrase “consumer electronics” can mean a number of different things, but most of them are audio. This chapter is about interference to audio equipment, whether stereo high-fidelity equipment or the intercom used to announce front-door visitors.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The FCC does not regulate what happens when a radio transmitter interferes with audio equipment. The issue is seen as being between the parties involved and not a matter for FCC concern. The reason is that the interference is due to the affected audio equipment not performing according to the following:
1. It must respond to signals that are intended for it
2. It must reject unwanted signals
