The Macroenvironment

Introduction

The tendency of many individuals and organizations is to focus on factors within their specific core market system perceived as future opportunities or threats. In terms of the influence, these are assumed to come from actions by suppliers, competition, intermediaries, or a shift in the behavior pattern of end users. However, as shown in Figure 5.1, external to the core system are other variables that also represent potential sources of influence on future organizational performance.
