CHAPTER 15Togetherness Is a Journey, Not a Destination

Well, I saved this chapter for the end. It is called the conclusion, after all. But I did wait to draft it until I completed the rest of the text. I am sitting here by candlelight at 4:30 a.m., surrounded by 100‐plus boxes of Girl Scout cookies that need to get delivered or eaten, four sleeping children (including two in the same bed because another child has COVID, so she has the basement to herself), four cats chasing each other loudly, a pile of both clean and dirty laundry, and a likely sleeping husband (he gets a huge shoutout in the Acknowledgments). On the flip, there is challah French toast waiting to be cooked in a few short hours (hot breakfast Wednesdays are a thing in my house), ...
