You have a business relationship with an organisation which regularly sets very demanding deadlines for you to respond to complex requests. However, they themselves take a lot of time to respond to your questions or requests, regularly missing deadlines you try to impose. Your contact describes your working relationship as a partnership; to you it feels like a master/servant relationship.

First, think:

  • What is the nature of this relationship? Are you a service provider? A supplier? A customer? A stakeholder? Is an equal partnership a credible option?
