The Phone Call
In March of 1988, when I (Tracey) was 19, I received a phone call that forever changed my life. The caller was a human resources manager at Toyota’s new Kentucky plant offering me a position as a production team member in the Plastics department. I wouldn’t trade that call for anything in the world. This was not only a highly sought-after job, but the beginning of a journey of discovery that was to shape my entire career as a worker, learner, manager, and teacher of others.
