Other Institutions
The institutions of the EU play important roles in the region’s economies and financial markets. Three primary institutions are involved in EU legislation: the Council of the European Union (not to be confused with the European Council), the European Parliament and the EC.
Council of the European Union
The Council of the European Union (formerly known as the Council of Ministers) is one of the two legislative bodies of the bicameral legislature of the EU.
