There is a growing sense that organizations must recognize that they have a wider responsibility than their own profitability and returns to shareholders. They must take responsibility for their wider economic, social and environmental impact. But there is a lack of consensus about what organizations should be doing to contribute to sustainable development, or what constitutes corporate social responsibility.
