When did you start to become interested in the subject of postmodernity?

I do not exactly remember when I first came upon the term ‘postmodernism’. It was probably in the midst of the 1970s, either in the Centre for Twentieth-Century Studies in Milwaukee where I happened to have the privilege of a one-year fellowship, or else in Munich where I resided a little later as the guest professor at the university. But I did not pay due attention to it; I took the term at its face value as a kind of naming of a couple of things which appeared on the new artistic scene.
