1 FROM CONCEPT TO PILOT SCRIPT
You’ve got an idea for a television series unlike any in the history of the medium. That’s wonderful. Confidence is important in this business. However, before devoting the many months or even years of developing a scripted series, I urge you to first ask yourself three basic questions:
- Why this idea?
- Why you as its author/creator/producer?
- Why now?
Let’s drill down into each of these:
- Why this idea? How did you come up with it? What was the catalyst? How is it wholly original, or a fresh spin or take on a familiar idea? Why do you feel it will connect with an audience?
