CHAPTER 15CREATING CONTENT ON LINKEDIN
This is where the opportunity really lies, creating your own content.
Understandably this is also one of the areas that scares a lot of salespeople (and also the companies that they work for).
I mean, the thought of all of their salespeople writing their own content can be pretty scary! However, I need you to trust me and understand that the potential far outweighs the risk. The key is to do it right and understand how to avoid some of the risks.
I'd like to remind you that before using LinkedIn, I had never ever created a piece of content before, I didn't even really know what content was! I'd never written a blog, never recorded a video, never created a meme, none of it. I was just a traditional salesperson making calls. What I have done in this section of the book, and in my training courses, is make content creation as simple and easy as possible.
In this section I will talk you through each of the core content types, and how you can create the best possible content for each of them. I'll include some examples and top tips as well, along with some quick start ideas for you.
