So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Introduction
When the LEGO Group commenced the MINDSTORMS series in 1998 with the release of the Robotics Invention System (RIS), it might have wondered what the outcome of LEGO-based robotics sets would be. Any ambiguity about the success of the MINDSTORMS series soon vanished, however, as the RIS sparked incredible sales, publicity, and enthusiasm around the world. Over the next eight years, MINDSTORMS inspired a multitude of fan websites, numerous robotic competitions, and more than 40 unofficial books based on the series.
