On December 6, 2004, 18-year-old Gary Brolsma recorded a 99-second video of himself sitting in his room in front of his computer, lip-synching and mugging to the obscure Eastern European pop song “Dragostea din Tei” by the Moldovan-Romanian boy band O-Zone.
