This book came flowing out of the shower head at me one Sunday morning—all in a gush. With it came the realization that this book could be one that many people could enjoy. Also, as if by magic, from that first realization gushed forth enthusiastic volunteers to turn what they saw as a nifty idea into reality. Most of the old crowd of helpers who had helped with my last book came out from under cover to take up the charge, and with more zeal than the first time. Others joined in. Some of them had, over the years, joined me as full-time participants in our hidden little financial factory in the woods, 2,200 feet above the Bay Area—what we call Fisher Investments. Others who signed on were part of this project alone. All of them are appreciated.
Joseph Toms, one of our managing directors at Fisher Investments, provided the first feedback that suggested there might be interest in these charts and visualizations. After reading my first few attempts, he provided comments and suggestions that helped me hone the content and style. Chris Antonio and Ephran Younger arrived at Fisher Investments simultaneously, looking for work. Both had security industry backgrounds and were in the midst of career changes. And both of them bought the idea of working with me on The Wall Street Waltz. Chris and Ephran together drafted about 40 of the stories herein.
