What Most Managers Do

Most of us have worked for managers that made the workplace into a guessing game. These managers expect their team members to perform at a high level, but they don’t describe that high level of performance, don’t establish effective processes to guide the team, and don’t provide the right rewards for achieving the goals. Indeed, the goals are often missing as well.

These managers, of course, are at great risk in their careers. After all, their teams are expected to accomplish two major activities: do the right things, and do those things very well.
