MIND PLAY AND IMAGE ASSOCIATION form a part of how Michael Pick generates his ideas. In this instance, he began thinking about public gardens in New York City and took a number of digital photos. As he was working with the images in Adobe Photoshop, he noticed that his work bore a resemblance to an ant farm. This led to the idea of creating an underground scene rather than a more traditional aboveground garden.
