Steam Power Plant Systems

The first utility of life is water and then electrical power. Natural water contains impurities. Softened water is used as make-up water for condenser cooling, auxiliary cooling, and air conditioning. DM water serves as the heat-cycle make-up water. Cations are replaced with hydrogen ions and anions are exchanged with hydroxide ions. The CW system can be the recirculating or once-through type. The cooling tower may be the induced draft or natural draft type. The compressed air system meets all the station air requirements. The instrument air has to be oil-free, dust-free, and dry.
