Interlock and Protection
The interlock and protection system is used to ensure safety of equipment and personnel as well as stable operation of a unit. This system initiates automatic corrective actions to stabilize the unit quickly. The protection scheme is developed to trip the equipment automatically with or without time delay. Audio-visual alarm annunciation, supplementing interlock, and protection are provided to alert the operator. Pulverized fuel-fired steam generators are prone to explosion hazards due to unstable burning and fire-outs occurring in burners.
