7Transient Thermal Spreading Resistance

Transient spreading resistance occurs during startup, and it is important in many microelectronic devices or applied heating applications. The spreading resistance may be defined with respect to the area‐average temperature or with respect to a single point temperature such as the centroid temperature. In many solutions, we may only obtain the result in terms of the centroid value of temperature.
