O’Donnell's was abuzz with rumours, mostly exaggerated but all tinged with an excitement that maybe — just maybe — the company would be rid of the arrogant control freak Charles Enright.

Production teams milled around eager to hear the latest bulletin on Charles's condition. Sales staff scanned social media for the juiciest gossip and even the studious finance team huddled together sharing a joke at the Chief Executive's expense.

Certainly not many people were upset by Charles's horizontal departure through the foyer, and the words ‘Total Eclipse!’ scrawled across the whiteboard in the sales meeting room captured the mood of many who were of the view that Charles sincerely believed the sun rose from his own backside.

Depending on where you walked around the company, Charles had variously died from a heart attack, been paralysed by a stroke, choked on a ham sandwich or been punched out by Jenny O’Donnell, although the last theory was more wishful thinking than believable.

No‐one knew or even expected that Charles had been sacked or that an O’Donnell was again about to lead the business. There were plenty of surprises coming and even a few that would catch Jenny O’Donnell unawares.
