INTENT ISN’T THE POINT

The Filter Harm of Microaggressions

Knowing our Filters and developing the ability to challenge them in order to shift our actions helps us to be more effective. Filters are also the source of microaggressions, a form of identity-based harm. On the path to creating greater equity, we must first ensure we’re not perpetuating or causing harm to others. Once again, to do so, we need to know how our Filters drive our thoughts and behaviors.
