There Really Are Jobs Out There

I’m not even going to get into employment and unemployment statistics. Who knows how they will have changed between the time I’ve written this book and the time you’re reading it. I will say this: The numbers will fluctuate.

But we do need to talk about this: what you tell yourself about the lack of or availability of jobs. Because that too can affect what you do and how you seem in the job-hunting process.

A lot of people go around saying, “There aren’t any jobs” or “No one is hiring.” News reports that dwell on the negative don’t help. It’s hard not to let it affect you.
