#14: Don’t Get Careless with Your Online Presence
First, don’t forget to update your information now that you landed a new position. Up until now, for example, your LinkedIn profile has been crafted as one for a job hunter. So consider unchecking (under “Opportunity Preferences”) the box that indicates you’re interested in Job Inquiries. (I know people who have gotten fired when their managers found out or thought they were looking for a new job.)
Update your summary and experience. You’re no longer a real estate agent looking for work. You’re now associated with Mark and Mandy’s Real Estate, where you help property owners in the tri-state area sell their homes faster and for a higher price. Write something like that in your profile.
