3The Demand Side of the Gig Economy
Business is moving more quickly than ever. The advent of the Internet 25 years ago changed our regular speed to light speed. Now with social media, the primacy of mobile apps and the movement to the cloud, companies are forced to operate at warp speed or be left behind. Just consider that two of the companies that are now key engines of growth, Facebook and Twitter, are only 10 years old. The primary communication tool in many technology companies, Slack, has only been around for 3 years. The implication is that innovation is happening quickly, and by extension, adoption is occurring even faster.
