Connecting the High Performance Operation’s Components
Now that we’re moving in the direction of building the operational performance solution, it’s time to start pulling in the basic shapes (or attributes) for doing so. One of those shapes is the notion of services.
Services are a class of business objects with the following attributes:
• Services are typically consumed as they’re produced, meaning as the service is being provided, someone (or something) is receiving it.
• Services can’t be stored or saved for future use. Unlike products, you can ask for a repeat of the service, but you can’t actually put a performed service away or on a shelf and get the benefit of it later when you want it. For example, a lawn care service can’t ...
