11.1 Introduction
The advent of quantum computing has brought forth a new era of technological advancements and possibilities [1, 2]. With the potential to solve complex problems at an unprecedented speed, quantum computers hold tremendous promise for fields ranging from drug discovery to financial modeling. However, as with any groundbreaking technology, quantum computing also poses significant challenges and concerns, particularly in the realm of cybersecurity. This chapter explores the issues and challenges that arise in the context of cybersecurity as a result of quantum computing. The world of computing has witnessed remarkable advancements over the years, enabling us to solve increasingly complex problems and process vast amounts of data. However, as we approach the limits of classical computing, a new paradigm is emerging that promises to unlock unprecedented computational power. This paradigm is known as quantum computing [1].
