Abstract

Quality circle is an alternative to the dehumanizing concept of the division of labor, where workers are treated like robots, to quote certain criticism of Taylor’s scientific management principle. This chapter illustrates how the quality circles are formed and function to encourage the workers to take part in all shop floor decisions to achieve overall improvement in performance.
