Get the Information You Need
After you have created your action plan, you need to gather information about your behavior and its impact on others. CCL’s situation-behavior-impact (SBI) model of feedback is a proven way to gather such information (see the box on page 15).
Asking for SBI-type feedback lets people know you are interested in receiving feedback and provides a safe and useful framework for them to provide it. You may also want to gather different kinds of observations, such as more general impressions about whether what you’re doing is having a positive or negative effect and getting the results you want.
