If you work for a global commodity trading firm like Cargill or Glencore and have access to accurate, timely (and expensive) fundamental intelligence, the odds are it’s better information than the rest of us are getting. It’s Nestlé’s business, for example, to know the condition of the cocoa crop in Ghana or Brazil.
