Chapter 7. Mirroring and Replication
Exam objectives in this chapter:
Implement database mirroring.
Database mirroring is a solution for increasing the availability of databases, enabling a mirror database to function as a substitute if the primary database becomes unavailable. The amount of data lost and how automatically the switch occurs between the primary and the mirror depends on the configuration of the mirroring session. Replication is a method of transmitting database data and objects between database servers. Microsoft SQL Server 2012 supports four primary methods of replication, and the ability to determine the situations in which each replication method is appropriate comprises part of the 70-462 exam.
