Designing for the Classroom—Virtual and Live

The Production phase (Figure 8.1) is the most expensive and time-consuming phase of the instructional design process because it's the part in which detailed content is developed. All the work you've completed leading up to this phase of the model—from needs/gap analysis, through learning analysis, design, and the blueprint meeting to prototype creation—culminates with the creation of a detailed content outline.

By the time you get to the Production phase, you know with certainty that any content created during this phase will align with your client's or the organization's business goals. All that work you did prior to this phase keeps you from having to make costly revisions to your content. ...
