Clarissa T. Sligh (b. 1939) has taken a highly varied and crooked path in becoming an artist, including: being the lead plaintiff for a desegregation case in Virginia, working at NASA and on Wall Street, traveling across Africa with her young daughter, and, in due course, getting her MFA.
