Catherine Jansen (b. 1945), who studied with William Larson at the Tyler School of Art (whom she married and divorced), made Soft Silver Tea Set (1968), a “scale-to-life,” three-dimensional cyanotype. This was followed by a three-dimensional environment, The Blue Room (1968), whose entire contents were cyanotypes printed on cloth. Jansen’s kinesthetic works echo how women had traditionally expressed themselves in creative activities like quilt-making.
