Joyce Neimanas (b. 1944) earned her MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1969), taught there from 1972 to 2004, and then taught at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque (2004–2010). Neimanas has a highly diverse and unorthodox stance that rejects the dogma of modernistic photographic purity.
