  • AA: Arthur Andersen, one of the Big Five accounting firms that went out of business during the Enron scandal.
  • Abbott Laboratories: A US health care company that specializes in cardiovascular, diagnostics, diabetes, and neuromodulation products. Abbott is also well known for its pediatric and adult nutrition products. It has global operations and is headquartered in Lake Bluff, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.
  • ADA: Antideficiency Act.
  • AI: Artificial intelligence.
  • AmerisourceBergen: An American drug wholesale company that provides drug distribution and related services designed to reduce costs and improve patient outcomes. It is headquartered in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania, as suburb of Philadelphia.
  • ARC: Administrative Resource Center. A division of US Department of Treasury's Fiscal Bureau Affairs.
  • AWITF: Agency-wide Integrity Task Force. It was established by the CFO in 2018 to improve the governance structure at HUD.
  • Belvidere, New Jersey: A small, rural farming community town located in Warren County, in the northwestern corridor of New Jersey.
  • Big Eight: Refers to the largest eight accounting firms in the early 1980s before the firms started to merge. The Big Eight consisted of Arthur Andersen, Arthur Young, Coopers & Lybrand, Deloitte Haskins and Sells, Ernst & Whinney, Peat Marwick Mitchell, Price Waterhouse, and Touche Ross.
