Chapter 9. Phase Three: Design, Deploy, and Extend
All the hard work and effort will finally bring forth fruit with this phase. At this stage the network and enterprise are prepared for an Intent-Based Network and all aspects necessary for the transformation. Phase three will actually design, implement, and extend the campus network to an Intent-Based Network.
Because IBN is a philosophy, a number of design choices can be made upon which the transformation will actually occur. The transformation to an Intent-Based Network can be achieved via either a Software-Defined Access or a classic VLAN approach. Both journeys are valid, and each has advantages and disadvantages.
