Abstract
The Metaverse has been the topic of conversation since Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg changed the name of the entity to “Meta.” Before this, the term “Metaverse” was mostly unknown. It is seen as the next step in technological development. So many IT companies are competing for control of this brand-new emerging technology. Even though this technology is still in its infancy, efforts are being made to make it a reality in future years. The nation’s COVID-19 crisis appears to have sped up the growth of the metaverse. The pandemic scenario led to an increase in the use of internet platforms for several activities like education, meetings, financial transactions, and many others. As a result, metaverse technologies were made possible as individuals looked for new ways to interact, do business, and travel via internet platforms. When face-to-face connection was prohibited, the educational system also moved to online platforms which changed how education is imparted. Zoom has launched a new feature that enables users to build their avatars to appear in virtual meetings as part of its attempt to reach the metaverse.
