Strategic ECM Middleware Integrations
Integrating ECM requires thinking about it as middleware. This means two primary options: ECM acts as middleware, or ECM is hidden behind middleware. In the first case, your ECM system connects directly to the applications you need: ERP, CRM, e-mail archives, and the like. This is a good option if your system has very specific content needs. In contrast, if you want to provide a common set of ECM services across a variety of applications that is beyond core services, providing ECM through middleware is a good option.
