Bring Unstructured Services to Structured Applications
The entire purpose behind having a strategic ECM infrastructure is so that you can bring unstructured content and services to other applications. These may be client-facing applications—like the Desktop Integration Suite mentioned in Chapter 4—or they may be structured content repositories. These structured repositories may be existing enterprise applications or they may be new middleware applications.
In either case, these applications are likely to have similar unstructured content needs:

Metadata services, including folksonomy and tagging
