The Approximate Inductive–Capacitive Crosstalk Model
In this chapter we develop a simple but approximate model of coupled three-conductor lines for predicting the crosstalk between them. Not only does this simple model give reasonably accurate approximate results for the crosstalk, but it also gives a considerable amount of insight into how the crosstalk is created. It also shows how such remedies as shielded wires and twisted pairs of wire can be used to affect that crosstalk.
The multiconductor transmission line (MTL) equations are, again, coupled partial differential equations. They can be written compactly in matrix form as
