Sometimes when employees are not performing as an organization wishes they would, training is suggested to improve the situation. Before you know it, the request for a program lands on your desk, even if other approaches might have worked better to address the performance problem. Providing training when the problem can’t be solved by training can damage your own reputation and that of your department.
