Description
Even experienced speakers can get nervous when conducting training, whether live or virtual. Fear of public speaking repeatedly tops lists—researched and less evidence-based—of common adult fears. Training events are dynamic; facilitators need to be able to adjust in response to participant needs and reactions, and the uncertainty of that can be unsettling. Because we are at the helm of the training event, and learners are putting themselves into our hands, we know that participants have—and should have—high expectations. All of this can produce nervous anticipation before or during a training session.
